I don't know why no one has caught this yet. This particular shampoo has Parabens. Methylparaben and Propylparaben. Methylparaben is the one to be most concerned about.Methylparaben is listed by the Hazardous Substances Data Bank as a food preservative, as well as a preservative for cosmetics. It is a fungicide, which can preserve the life of a product. The HSDB states that methylparaben is quickly absorbed through the skin and the intestinal tract (when used as a food preservative). There is a great deal of controversy surrounding its use, with many reports of dangerous side effects.Methylparaben is widely used as a preservative in women's cosmetics, such as skin creams and deodorants. One of the physical dangers associated with methylparaben is its connection with tumors in the breast. Simply put, this shampoo delivers what it promises: Ever since I started using it, I have not felt the need to use hair conditioner any longer. My hair is natural, not colored or permed, and I simply shampoo and rinse it with moderately hot water, let it air dry and it turns out soft and manageable. It also does not grease up anymore, which for me is a sign that my 'follicle-fat' household has balanced itself out. Whereas before, I needed to wash my hair every 2 days, I can now go for 4 days without any problem, and it looks fresh and clean.I have to make a comment as to the poor choice of the shipping box, which caused the bottles to break during shipment on two occasions. More air cushining around the bottles would certainly help!

I did enjoy this shampoo. It's organic, vegan-friendly, and the smell is rich and lovely - and those are all exceptional pros and if I think about it, I can look over some of the things that have bothered me about it.Such as, it seems to get an inordinate amount of knots in my hair after use - as if it's drying out my hair too much, but that could just be my hair type. It's a bit of a bother.This brand of shampoo and conditioner, overall, seem weak against my long, very thick hair - but it may just be my hair type, and not the shampoos fault.
