I have searched high & low for a shampoo to cleanse my oily hair without drying it out or replacing it with synthetic moisturizers. Once I learned of the toxins in most shampoos in the stores that I was shopping in, it became even more of a challenge. After nothing worked, I decided to try the no-poo method, which was great for about 4 days, but the rest of the month was horrible! I first learned of this product on the Skin Deep Database & was happy with the rating, so I decided to give it a try. Best decision! It leaves my hair clean & easy to comb through without having to use conditioner. In fact, I haven't used conditioner since I started using this. I can even go a day without washing my hair! Finally, I have found a shampoo that I love!

The bottle I received looks slightly different from the bottle in the picture. One of them is likely an "updated" version, I just don't know which one. The ingredients are the same though. My bottle says "Deep Cleanse" but I wouldn't go that far in describing it. It DOES contain menthol and mint, which are completely useless ingredients; neither of them contributes to the cleansing ability of the shampoo one bit, but they give the shampoo a fresh scent and that cool, fresh, tingling sensation that make the customers feel like the product is "doing" something. If you are sensitive to menthol or mint, this is not for you. Beyond that, it's a terrific shampoo. It's not at all clarifying, but at the same time it doesn't ADD any of the moisturizers or conditioners that oily scalps absolutely don't need. We have all the natural oil we can use, we don't need our shampoos adding more! It makes my hair feel soft and easy to brush through without drying out my hair. All I need is a little leave-in conditioner at the very ends. If you can handle the mint and menthol, I definitely recommend this as another alternative to gentle, non-clarifying shampoos.

This is a great clarifying shampoo. Make sure you follow up with a good deep conditioner because it can make your hair feel a little dry afterwards.
