I was introduced to Rusk products when I visited Rosario Resort. They stocked the bath with their Calm shampoo and the conditioner. I was actually quite impressed, and surprised! I have been using Aveda for nearly as long as they have been in business. I have a hard time finding anything I like better. However, I have to tell you that this shampoo and conditioner hit the nail on the head. Slightly more expensive than the other products you are going to find on the drug store shelf, but not as expensive as Aveda. Light, whole fragrance. Not a perfume feel at all. Leaves my hair well balanced. Light with body. I have medium-fine hair and this is the best I have found without weighing it down.

I tried this product because someone on utube said it worked for her to define her 3c curly hair. I was sceptical because most curlies use some type of gel or curl activating product. Most kinky curlies use a lot more then that. I shampooed with the rusk shampoo, applied this conditioner, raked it thru, rinse some of it out, smoothed it through and let it air dry. I had a better curl pattern then if I had used gel of curl activator like miss jessie, or deva, or curlisto, or eco, or jessecurl or any of the other 9000 products I have. IN addition I have a problem with frizz on one side and a kinkier pattern in the back. I had no frizzs (which is unheard of) and the curls in the back were defined.I'm writing this review because all of us curlies spend tons of money on product and here's a simple solution...a real wash and go.I did have shrinkage but will try to find a solution. After the first day it expanded.

I too have been an Aveda gal and was happy with their products. I recently went to the Seaside Inn in Sanibel Island, Fl and they stocked Rusk products. I used them and I loved it! My hair is color treated and the texture is a bit "dry and wirey" because I am Chinese. Any how, I loved the Calm shampoo and conditioner and it's nourishing, but does not weigh it down. I got my products at Target. Love the price. I still use Aveda too but I alternate so it last much longer. I highly recommend you try this product. Can not beat the price!!!
