I've used this product based on my hairdresser's recommendation for the past 2 years or so. It's only 4 ounces but you don't need much -- about half of what one might be tempted to use. It doesn't have much of a scent and it doesn't create a huge amount of lather but it rinses out easily. It really helps keep my red hair from fading to brown. It doesn't dry my hair but it doesn't make my hair smell nice so I sometimes add about half again as much of a gentle herbal shampoo (one that does smell nice). The package states the product is "not animal tested."

I had pretty high expectations for this product. It worked at little, but not nearly as well as I thought it would. I have naturally brown hair with a little red in it, and I die it red. My purpose for buying the ClayPac Color enhancing Shampoo was to refresh my faded red color. I used a large amount and left it in my hair for about 30 minutes. It added a little red back into my hair but not much, and it washed out within a few days. I was not able to use this shampoo on a daily basis because the fumes were irritating my eyes... even after I had dried and styled my hair the next day there were still traces of fumes I think because my eyes were still hurting and tearing up. Perhaps I have eyes that are more sensitive than most people. After using this product about 4 times I've given up. The cost (and my hurting eyes) are just not worth the minimal results.

This is the first color enhancing shampoo I've ever tried, so I don't have much to compare it to, however, I am happy with the results. My red hair color fades pretty quickly, and this shampoo really does help to brighten up the color as it naturally fades. When I first used it, it turned my hands pink (which washed away quickly). The shampoo by itself doesn't lather well, so I mix it with my regular shampoo now, and it works great! As my grays start to show, this shampoo helps to cover it, making your overall color last longer. I use it every other shampoo. Will be buying this again.
