I have been using this shampoo for over 2-months. I have tried Kirk's natural shampoo, since I love their bar coco soap. However, Kirk's was just OK. I have dry, color treated hair and this seems to hold the color longer and is not drying, or stinky. Yes, it does smell nice and natural. I am highly allergic to most shampoos which cause me irritation. As for use on oily hair, I have no input. It is as close to totally safe and cancer free as you will find, so give it a try. I could not get the matching conditioner, so I went with the mandarin orange which had good reviews. As to the mandarin orange and patchouli, it was OK. I now will be using the matching conditioner and the 3-pk, better price here on Amazon VS Drugstore.com. Drugstore.com does have the best price on Kirk's coco soap at $1.19 a bar, and the sellers here are not even close.
